Read it together
Some stories are easier to begin with a grown-up close by. Find somewhere quiet, let your child turn the pages, and leave room to stop and talk.
- Read slowly and pause on the pictures.
- Let your child ask questions, and answer as honestly as feels right.
- There is no right way to feel. Some children want to talk, others want to sit close.
